Simple solutions for healthy living
starts with healthy food.

Today, more than ever,

we know that most health issues are well managed with the right nutrition;
which begins with “Healthy Food”.

Ever Considered a Rotational Diet?

Rotational feeding is a method where you feed your pet a variety of food types and proteins, rather than the same food all the time.

By varying your pet’s diet they will enjoy a wide range of essential nutrients which may reduce the chance of developing food allergies and sensitivities.

How to Start a Rotational Diet

1. Consider different “food types” in your pet’s feeding routine.

Quick Tip: Add raw or almost raw options to your pet’s kibble.

2. Consider switching the protein of your pet’s food, from chicken to fish to pork.

Quick Tip: Try different proteins within the brand of food you feed, regardless of food type.

The Price is NOT ALWAYS Right

Price matters. We absolutely get it. Although the price of a bag of pet food doesn’t always indicate its quality, the rule of thumb is you get what you pay for.

Let Us Tell Your Why

Real meat costs more than rendered meat or meat by-products.

Real meat costs more than potatoes, corn or wheat.

Therefore, a bag of food that contains 60-80% real meat will likely cost more than one that’s literally a sack of potatoes.

Here is Why Knowing That Matters

Dogs and cats are, by their very nature, carnivores. They thrive when they eat meat-based diets.

Meat-based diets are more satisfying and will keep your pet full and energized longer.

This means you will likely have to feed less meat, than you would potatoes.

It stands to reason that an animal eating an authentic, meat-based, lower-carbohydrate (bye-bye potato) diet will be healthier over time.

5 Easy Steps to Great Nutrition

Look for food where “named” meat is the first ingredient (for example, chicken or chicken meal).

Watch where food like sweet potato, brown rice and lentils fall on the ingredient panel. The higher up they are on the list, the more dominant these carbohydrates will be in your pet’s bowl.

Look for “named” fats like chicken fat rather than words you cannot pronounce.

Check for healthy Omega’s like salmon oil or fish oil.

Seek out natural preservatives like vitamin E or C.

Quick tip when trying to identify a healthy food over an unhealthy option

If you can identify and pronounce more ingredients in the panel than you cannot – you are already on the right track!
